About expert remote

Alex C has been in the remote hiring business for more than a decade. In 2010 he started as a freelance developer on Upwork (Odesk).

In 2013, together with his former client, Alex created CareerMug, a CV-builder tool. It allowed candidates to create stunning CVs for free if they opted in to share their data with recruiting agencies.

In 2014 Alex founded SmartexLab, an IT Outsourcing firm in Belarus. Alex’s team has built multiple HR/Payroll systems including one for an early-stage startup that later became a billion dollar corp. In 2019, SmartexLab had 40+ developers, $1M+ ARR and got acquired.

From 2019 to 2022 Alex co-founded: FightRoutine – no-code, RPA SAAS. ZoomerApps – mobile app developer and publisher. Auxilium – the most localized Talent Management Platform in the Middle East.

In 2022, Alex realized the world has changed. Companies go global-first. While traditional IT Outsourcing industry is localized. All his previous projects lined up and started to make sense. Life prepared him for this. He had no choice but to start Global Hiring Platform ExpertRemote.

Around the same time, in 2011, another Alex (Alex D) started his career as a software engineer at EPAM, well-known IT Outsourcing company. He rose through the ranks to senior engineer and managed dev teams.

In 2015, Alex D joined Alex C at SmartexLab. Started as a technical project manager, Alex D quickly took on a lot of responsibility and became Alex C’s partner and CTO. At SmartexLab, he primarily oversaw product delivery and HR (recruiting, onboarding, people management).

After SmartexLab was acquired, Alex C went on and Alex D stayed and managed the business as the CEO for almost 2 years.

From 2021 to 2022 he was a CTO at Efirst Asia, an eCommerce company.

Throughout his career, Alex D always had one passion: to work at the intersection of people and technology. So, when Alex C approached him with a bunch of “revolutionize global hiring” ideas, Alex D had no choice.
